....not only for who I am...
....but also despite who I am...
....and mostly for who I am yet not!
I guess we all want to be loved, not only for all our goodness, but moslty despite our bad sides and imperfections....and mostly for our efforts to becoming the persons we are proud of being.
Processes are often tough to go through, yet the way in which real, internal changes take place.
Our characters remind of houses....the better materials we use for their construction, the better the solidarity, the duration and the outcome....we may cheat by focusing on the...decoration(!)...but sooner or later we'll have to go back restoring the foundations, should we have neglected them in the first place...

Dear Ivy, such a short yet so meaningful post... loved the way you compared one's personality with building a house. I never thought of that, but you're so right. Either we get mistaken with interior decoration, or even exterior appearance... but in the end, with time going by, the interior and foundations, if poorly built will crack, and finally show what in truth it was made of.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that's the way with people... we can mislead others with looks, concerning beautiful clothes/car/house, a high standard job or even money, telling and showing how much we make a month... but this, in truth tells nothing about our inner self.
That (our inner self or in other words our heart) we must cherish and take care of... make it strong and kind, so that we can grow over the years without cracking, and keep standing on our own feet.
